Saturday was a

great day. It started out kinda rough, but it ended up being a really good day.

Saturday afternoon, the marching band was supposed to be going to a football game, but when I woke up it was snowing outside and I put on about 7 pairs of leggings/ pants. No exaggeration. After going outside and realizing my jazz shoes would be soaked in about five minutes, I somehow ran back to my dorm to get my rain boots before my ride down to south campus came. After walking around the gym whining about practice for a half an hour, we were told that we were allowed to leave. THANK GOODNESS. We decided to go to “breakfast”, even though it was around lunch time. But, the food at Lawrence was actually really good because it was Parent’s Day! Afterwards, Christian passed out in my bed for about two hours while Nicole and I studied for our TBS Exam the next day. At about four o’clock, us three and Caroline were trying to decide what to do for the rest of the day because it was a free day. We went out into the lobby and saw our RA’s decorating the bulletin boards. Since it was still snowing, somebody mentioned how they wished that there was a fireplace we could sit by to warm up. And then RA Fran said, “Well, you could make a fireplace.” And the idea was born. We made a fireplace entirely out of construction paper on a wall. It ended up looking so good!
At around 8:00, we all started to get hungry. None of us were in the mood for diner food and Lawrence was closed, so we decided to go into town for dinner. We ended up choosing a Mexican restaurant called Mas, bundled up and trekked into town in the snow. It ended up being worth the walk because the food was amazing and it was just a good time. When we got back, we added a chimney to our fireplace and went to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.

It was just a great day with great food and amazing people.
